When Stephen was orphaned he walked from Nairobi to a village in western Kenya to find his grandfather.  His grandfather was too old and weak to care for him.

W.O.R.K. found Stephen and supported him through his education.  He now has a degree in forensic science. Stephen is giving somet to the community by sponsoring workshops on environmental issues and leadership skills.

George was homeless and unwell from solvent abuse. W.O.R.K. sponsored him through his education and is now a qualified civil engineer with his own business. His company works in poor areas helping to supply clean water to isolated communities.

Abel has been sponsored through his education and is now an accountant.  He can support himself and other family members as well as acting as a role model to others.  Abel’s achievement shows that young people from a very poor background can do well when given the chance.  It is the generosity of sponsors that have made this possible.

The Eagle Association

Nelly, Kevin, Balentine, Mercy and Stephen are amongst the students who are now qualified and did not want to lose the comradeship and mutual support they enjoyed during their time at school and college.  To continue their friendship, and to support other orphans during their education, they formed The Eagle Association.

Each term, members of The Eagle Association deliver a bag of toiletries to the orphans who are in school and college.  If girls cannot buy sanitary towels they miss a week of education every month.  They are also given soap and other basics which they cannot afford to buy themselves.

“We are committed to supporting this noble cause in any way we can to ensure that our young brothers and sisters have a smooth life at school and make the most of the opportunity.”

Agnes Clare is teaching in a school in central Kenya.

Frederick is teaching agriculture in a youth polytechnic.  Among his students are other orphans who are being sponsored in the same way as he was helped.

Mercy is working as a social worker, helping others.  She understands what it is to have no hope.
